Below is a few lines from Norfolk County Councils website on this subject, this applies to those vehicles you see on our grass verges and private car parks ( supermarkets etc ), which are quite obviously broken down, although they must in all cases attempt to contact the registered keeper, but if no contact can be made the vehicles can and will be removed with the following charges, set down by Central Government. The removal, storage and disposal costs are statutory charges laid down in the Removal, Storage and Disposal Vehicle Regulations. These start at £150 for removal, £20 a day for storage and £75 for disposal. The costs cannot be challenged as they are statutory charges, although they can be waived if you have the official documentation to prove you are no longer the Registered Owner or Keeper of the vehicle.
